Need food? Here are some resources for assistance in Lapeer!

The Lapeer community is where Journey Therapy Center got its start, and we love this town and its people! Unfortunately, we know that many right here in our community are facing uncertainty and fear about feeding their families as SNAP funding is halted.

We wanted to share just a few public food resources available here in Lapeer, in the hope that it can help ease those fears:

  • First Presbyterian Church of Lapeer, 433 N. Calhoun St., Lapeer has a soup kitchen from 4-5 p.m. on Thursdays. Call 810-664-8565
  • The Good Samaritans of Eastern Michigan, 2523 Imlay City Rd., Lapeer, has a food giveaway from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Call 810-660-7186 or visit www.mygoodsamaritans.com for details.
  • Grace Episcopal Church, 735 W. Nepessing St., Lapeer serves referrals from Love INC. Call 810-664-2841 for details.
  • Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 814 W. Nepessing St., Lapeer, has a food pantry from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. Call 810-664-8594.
  • Lapeer Church of Christ, 1680 N. Lapeer Rd., Lapeer, serves referrals from Love INC and LICA. Soup kitchen from 5 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Pop-up food pantries throughout the year. Call 810-664-1611.
  • Lapeer Free Methodist Church, 1621 North Saginaw St., Lapeer, has food available 24-7 on table in the breezeway. Call 810-322-0066.
  • Lapeer Interfaith Community Association (LICA), 1680 N. Lapeer Rd. (Parking lot of Lapeer Church of Christ and Love INC). Serves referrals from Love INC. Soup kitchen/dinner Monday to Friday throughout the year. Three food pantries and a weekly pop-up pantry food giveaway. Call 810-664-1611.
  • Paul Lutheran Church, 90 Millville St., Lapeer. Soup kitchen serves meals Fridays at 4 p.m. Food pantry is every other Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m., via referral from Love INC. Call 810-664-6653.
  • Trinity Methodist Church, 1310 N. Main St., Lapeer. Soup kitchen Mondays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Food and personal needs are served through Love INC. Call 810-664-9941 for details.
  • Food Bank of Eastern Michigan Mobile pantry. Visit www.fbem.org/programs/mobile-pantry-distributions/#food-pantry for locations and times.
